Animal Ark started as a dream, held by its founders Aaron and Diana Hiibel. They began a small wildlife rescue operation, originating from their lifelong fondness of animals. Animal Ark is a 38 acre wildlife sanctuary located in the Northern Nevada foothills with a history as intriguing and exciting as its animal residents.

Two Tails Ranch was founded in 1984 by Theodore H. Svertesky (1954-1994) and Patricia L. Zerbini. The ranch is the only privately owned elephant facility of its kind. The natural coast of Florida is a prime location for elephants. The climate is almost identical to their native countries. The location of our ranch is surrounded by green grass, live oaks and natural wildlife. It is a very peaceful environment that both animals and guests can enjoy. The ranch was built to board both Asian and African elephants needing temporary or permanent housing, regardless of health or dispositions. Over 250 elephants have passed through the gates of the ranch for a variety of reasons. Some stayed temporarily while their own exhibits were being remodeled or built. Others stayed for retirement, medical needs, behavior problems or even in emergencies after hurricanes destroyed their zoos.
For over 30 years, the Turtle and Tortoise Rescue of Arroyo Grande, CA has been fulfilling its mission to rescue, protect, and house turtles, tortoises, and other animals in its ecologically friendly 5-acre sanctuary. It was built from the ground up by Bob Thomas, a lifelong keeper of chelonians and reptiles with a passion and knowledge that led him to become a caretaker for a number of unwanted pets and abandoned animals in need.
We treat nearly 3,000 wild animal patients every year, from over 200 different species. Our goal? To return healthy animals to the wild! We also provide educational presentations for local organizations and schools
Pacific Wildlife Care (PWC) was founded in 1987 in reaction to the Apex Houston oil spill that brought a number of oiled pelicans to the beaches of San Luis Obispo County. Since that time, we have grown from a small group of dedicated home rehabilitators into a successful non-profit organization with a well-equipped rehabilitation center, a full-time wildlife veterinarian, a small paid staff, and over 200 volunteers. In addition to the Rehabilitation Center, which is open every day of the year, we maintain a Hotline that the public can call to report distressed wildlife (injured, sick, orphaned) and to receive information about our local wildlife.
